2. ALLAH CREATED US TO BE TESTED
Allah informs us that the creation of the heavens and the earth of life and death is for testing, that is to test man, to see which person is best in their deeds in terms of acts of worship and the way people make use of the provisions of the world.
Allah says “And He it is who has created the heavens and the earth in six days and His Throne was on the water, that HE might try you, Which of you is best in deeds…. “(Hud 11:7).”Who has created death and life that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And HE is the All Mighty, the oft – Forgiving”.(al-Mulk 67:2).
If a person forget or is ignorant of the purpose of life, his life becomes meaningless, worthless and leads a depressing life. As man was given free will, thus a person’s nafs could lead one to do good or bad deeds. An whoever does good deeds will be pleased by Allah that is will attain Allah’s pleasure and be rewarded with paradise and whoever does wrong deeds will be punished in hellfire. From this test result a manifestation and expression of the names and attributes of Allah such as Allah’s names ar- Rahman (the most Gracious), Al-Hakim(the most wise) al-Tawwab (the acceptance of repentance) and ar-Rahim the most Merciful and other names of Allah.
It should be noted that Allah did not create mankind out of a need on his part. If the entire humanity did not worship Allah it would not decrease His glory in anyway. Likewise if the entire humanity worship Allah it would not increase His glory. He exist without any need. Thus, it’s Human beings that are in total need of Allah in all aspects of life as without Allah humankind is nothing. Humankind must worship and obey Allah in all aspects and in everything we do and do them according to the teachings of the Qur’aan and Sunnah and guidance of the Messengers. In order to attain a meaningful and fruitful life and the pleasure of Allāh. For Indeed man was created to worship Allah. And worship is obedience to Allah’s divine laws and glorification of Allah. Allah says, “So Glorify the praises of your Lord and be one of those who always pray … “(Quran 15:98) therefore, one must affirm Allah’s oneness, His Lordship and His names and attributes. Worship Allah alone and not associate any partners to Him, in order to attain Allah’s pleasure, a fruitful life and be rewarded with paradise.
And Allah knows Best
