Some key points to be learned from the Story of Adam( AS)
1.Regret is very useful emotion which when you listen to, can actually guide you to be remorseful and seek forgiveness and repentance for one’s sins and misdeeds.
2.Its never too late for repentance as long as one is alife one must hasten to seek forgiveness and repent from one’s sins and misdeeds. For Allah is the oft-forgiving, the most merciful as long as we seek His forgiveness. One should never feel hopeless thinking that it’s too late to seek forgiveness of the Lord. Rather it is one who sins and no longer fears Allah that should be most worried.
We must learn from Prophet Adam ( As),Who acknowledged his actions and sought immediate forgiveness of his Lord .Adhering to this methodology is a true sign of a believer (Mu’min).
Hence, this powerful du’a emphasizes conceding to one’s sins, seeking Allah’s Mercy and admitting one’s needs of Allah’s forgiveness to avoid being among the losers. showing sincerity and turning to Allah.
For Indeed, mankind was created having weaknesses and is bound to sin, but the best are those who are quick in seeking forgiveness from Allah and repenting from one’s sins. The Prophet Mohammed, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “By the One in Whose Hand my soul is! If you do not commit sins, Allah would replace you with a people who would commit sins and seek forgiveness from Allah; and Allah will certainly forgive them. “Riyad as-Salihin 1871
In seeking sincere forgiveness and repentance one must adhere to these conditions,
In Islam, the conditions of repentance are;
1.Giving up the sin
2.Regreting what has happened in the past.
3.Resolving not to go back to it.If one is repenting from wronging others with regard their wealth ,honour or physical well-being then there is a fourth condition, which is;
4.Seeking forgiveness from the one who was wronged, or giving him/her his/her right .
Allah says,” O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, “Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent.” (At-Tahrim 66:8)
